Overview:
Tyler Union in Anniston, AL is seeking an Import Procurement and Logistics Manager.
Position may be located at the Vanderbilt Rd, Birmingham Office or the Tyler Union West 17th, Anniston Facility.
Tyler Union, a division of McWane, Inc. has a century of success in manufacturing and selling ductile iron fittings, joint restraints, and valve boxes for the waterworks industry. Responsible for leading purchasing, planning, and the sourcing of domestic and non-domestic parts and products. Drives vendor accountability. Work collaboratively with sales to facilitate timely purchase and receipt of parts and products from third suppliers. Work extensively developing advanced sourcing related processes and tools. Promote the design, development, and implementation of logistics solutions while driving continuous improvement. Responsibilities:
- Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Program. Advise management of any deviations from this program.

Provide leadership, strategic and tactical direction for purchasing, inbound non-domestic shipments, inventory control, and warehousing.
- Participate with management team to preparing annual forecasts.

Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on non-domestic supply chain activities.

Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, to provide performance feedback, or to discuss production forecasts or changes.
- Develop procedures for coordination of non-domestic supply chain management with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, finance, production, or quality assurance.

Design or implement non-domestic supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.

Manage activities related to strategic or tactical non-domestic purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing, or receiving.

Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders.

Implement new or improved non-domestic supply chain processes.

Develop methods and procedures to contribute to the most efficient, safe, and economical movement of materials.

Define, use, and analyze performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors.

Analyze inventories to determine how to reduce waste and minimize obsolescence.

Develop and implement sourcing and supplier selection strategy domestically and internationally.

Implement supplier agreements /contracts where beneficial by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on terms and conditions.

Evaluate supplier core competencies, competitive positioning, and risk assessments.

Analyze information about supplier performance or procurement program success.
- Monitor supplier performance assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
- Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies and action plans.

Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of non-domestic supply chain factors, such as product cost or quality.

Analyze non-domestic inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
- Select, train, and assist direct reports while providing career guidance and opportunity for increased cross training and mobility.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly manage team member and carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management/Logistics, Engineering, or related area. Equivalent experience in role will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Five years supply chain management experience in an industrial setting required.

Understanding of U.S. import/export regulations.
- Intermediate digital literacy in Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.
- Advanced understanding with ERP software; experience in D 365 a plus.
Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
