THE OPPORTUNITY
Seeking individuals with a focus on sales, hospitality and exceptional customer service. Must be able to provide prompt, hospitable service to guests at the wine tasting counter, bar and throughout the retail space. This person will have a positive attitude, be upbeat and engaging with guests plus have sales experience, while keeping order and employing good time management skills at times of peak attendance.
Duties & Responsibilities
Meet and exceed sales goals and quotas
Always be friendly, inviting and full-engaged with guests
Greet customers and invite them for a tasting with a smile on your face
Facilitate tastings, with proper information about the wines and the brand (including characteristics, food pairings, awards won, etc.)
Assist at the full bar and utilizing the POS for creating orders for food and drinks to be prepared
Encourage purchase of wine to take home and/or enjoy on the winery grounds
Run food and beverage service on patio and in restaurant as needed
Complete opening and closing procedures of the tasting counter and bar area
Ongoing tidying and stocking of wine, non-alcoholic beverages and food items
Track inventory and wine usage at the tasting counters
Wash dishes and glassware as needed, keep spaces clean and sanitized
Complete and maintain any required food and beverage selling certifications
Monitor guests alcohol intake and be prepared to limit consumption if necessary
Skills, Experience & Demand
Must be 21 years of age or older
Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and evening events if needed
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Reliable transportation to and from work
Physical Demands
While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift/move up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Tolerance of occasional high noise levels
