SUMMARY:
As a core member of the plant management team, the product controller is responsible for analysis, reporting, and control of plant product costs and financial topics. In this role, the product controller serves as a consultant for the plant leadership team on business related topics, sharing financial results and managing actions for cost control. This position also serves as a liaison to corporate accounting and executive leadership, presenting monthly/periodic cost data to US and German executive management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Cost Analysis:
Collect & analyze production data and plant KPIs.
Evaluate product costs; identify solutions for costing issues.
Prepare and present monthly plant results to executive management.
Design, create, and implement best practices and process improvements.
Develop and implement annual departmental budgets and business plan for plant.
Monitor and control departmental budgets.
Develop periodic annual forecasts.
Manage fixed asset planning & control for plant.
Inventory Management:
Partner with Logistics Manager on inventory discrepancies and problem resolution
Partner with Logistics Manager to coordinate annual physical inventory and cycle counts.
Ensure accurate accounting for inventory.
Manage annual inventory revaluation.
Accounting:
Manage month-end closing for plant, coordinating with corporate accounting.
Prepare relevant journal entries for month-end/year-end closing and coordinate with corporate accounting.

Provide audit support for annual external financial audit.
Additional duties as needed and assigned.

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:Minimum Requirements:
BS Accounting/Business
Strong manufacturing accounting & costing experience
Manufacturing systems experience; SAP experience desired
Excellent abilities in MS Office, especially Excel
German language helpful
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interprets basic instructions and required documents. Has the ability to respond and communicate complicated instruction and basic directions.
Outstanding written and oral communication skills
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to comprehend and apply principles of basic mathematics.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Normal amount of sitting and standing, above average mobility to move around an office and plant environment, able to conduct normal amount of work on a computer.
Works with all levels of employees as well as executive management.
Also works with Fehrer Germany Accounting and Finance teams.
Works with outside financial auditors.
