Grinder I - ID Jig - 2nd shift - Aerospace Coatings International

Overview of the Position:

Learn and understand the proper operation of the employees grinding machine (ID, Jig, and OD). Be responsible for that machine, report any problems to Management. Use and be able to read micrometers, c-micrometers, and bore gauges. Learn and be able to indicate or zero parts on machines. Grind parts to the specifications called for on Travelers. Be familiar with the company computer system, knowing how to clock parts to locations and document the required paperwork.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Learn and understand the proper operation of your machine, reporting any problems to Management.
• Use and be able to read micrometers, c-micrometers, and bore gauges.
• Learn to indicate or zero parts on machines.
• Grind parts to the specifications called for on Travelers.
• Properly lubricate grinding equipment.
• Use a power hand tool to grind or buff parts.
• Use proper hearing, eye, and foot protection as required.
• Know and understand the dust recovery system and associated safety rules, and the potential exposures to grinding dust and dressing rock dust.

  Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Must have H. S. Diploma or GED.
• Must speak, read and write the English language.
• Should have basic computer software skills.
• Should have basic mathematical skills (Adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, etc.).
• Should have knowledge of the use of measuring devices (micrometers, c-micrometers, bore gauges, etc.).
• Prior work experience in machine grinding helpful but not require.
• Should be able to read blueprints.
